June 30th we left the rest area that we stayed at for the night and grabbed a quick breakfast/fuel at a gas station before heading to Lewis, Kansas to see Monument Rocks. Not only is Monument Rock's rich in Fossils but also it's rich in History. Did you know that these formations are mainly composed of Chalk? Another cool bit that we learned is that Kansas has Little Badlands- also referred to Little Jerusalem. Unfortunately we didn't have the time to visit them this trip, so this will definitely be a place we come back to!!
After we marveled at this beautiful landmark for a while we continued our transit to our next destination which was to visit with our friends Stuart and Elaine. We had dinner with them at Joe's Kansas City BBQ, it certainly was delicious! Then a short drive to our friend Scott shop, then to his house for the night! I was super excited to meet Scott's wife Leah as I've heard nothing but very nice things about her, which are all true!! While at the shop I got to meet Scott and David's friend John and his step daughter Torie. It was cool to find out that Torie and myself have the same birthday! :) After hanging out at the shop and seeing many beautiful cars we left to go over to the house and go to bed! In the morning we woke up, had an amazing breakfast cooked by Scott and Leah, then we hit the road. One highlight while at Scott and Leah's was that Daniel figured out how to climb the stairs!! After this amazing achievement by Daniel it was time to hit the road!
