After we had a wonderful night and morning at the KOA we hit the road just before noon to start our trek to Kansas! This transit had a lot of cool things The Einsenhower/Johnson tunnel, Vail Ski Resort, the highest elevation during our entire trip (Check out our Annie's Organic Cheesy Smile Photo!), and a nasty hail storm! I can honestly say that Colorado was such a beautiful state!!!
The Eisenhower Johnson Tunnel and road was very cool. Highway, River, and eventually Snow capped Mountain views all in one!
Pictured above is Vail Ski Resort and below is one of the ski slopes!
Photo above is near Denver- the highway above us visually
appeared to overlap the highway below and a beautiful river
flowing right next to us while we were driving.
Beautiful snow capped mountains to the left, greenery surrounding, and beautiful water with a small island.
<----Traveling with this bag of Extra Cheddar
Smiles was a ton of fun in places with HIGH and LOW elevations. As we gained in elevation the bag increased in internal pressure, as we hit lower elevations the bag deflated! It was a ton of fun to watch! It also kind of freaked DC out!
We somehow drove through several miles of a bad Hail Storm and Ellie made it through it unscathed! Good job Ellie girl!
DC giving Ellie girl a hug!! He loves our "Cheeseburger Sprinter Van!" We stopped for the night at a rest stop in Grainfield, KS!
